JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR has up to 10 times the internal and external surface area of quartz with 100% pore space permeability for water transmission.
This results in a thinner layer thickness in the filtration systems.

Swimming Pool and Municipal Water System Filtration:
 
 
JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR reduces backwash time by up to 50% and has higher loading capacity than sand. When JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR is used in place of sand, there is less eye burning because it exchanges ammonium from urine directly into the crystal lattice where it is not water soluble. This results in less chlorine use and fewer formed chloramines that burn the eyes. Life expectancy is the same as sand.

JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR natural zeolite is an effective replacement for sand/anthracite and multimedia beds for surface and ground water filtration. It is economical for filter beds upstream to RO and Nano-membranes. The U.S. drinking water standards for microorganism pathogens, and turbidity can be most easily met using a natural, relatively low-cost JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR  rather than ”sand” which is chiefly quartz grains.
 
 
 
Wastewater Treatment:
 

 
 
 
JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR  has excellent turbidity, silt, algae (bio-particle) & TOCs removal from surface water. It enhances clarification performance and decreases filter bed solids loading. Spent JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR reagent can be land applied whereas spent alum/polymer reagent must be taken to a licensed land fill.

 

Purification and Particulate Removal of Nitrogen and Organic Hydrocarbons:
 

JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR is an ideal physical collector of pathogens such as Giardia, cryptosporidium, and other bacteria and their spores. Most of these organisms and their spores are in the size range of 0.5-10 micrometers (microns).
The water permeable pores in JNS SUPER Z ® ZEO-CLEAR are mostly smaller than .05 microns; therefore the zeolite fragment or granule can “surface collect” a high percentage of these microorganisms while the water passes through the zeolite.

 
Better Filtrate Clarity:
 
JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR  used in drinking water and swimming pool filtration applications produces DE like clarity with a nominal 3 to 5 micron rating.
 
 
Increased flow rates in gravity and pressure vessel systems:

In a JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR filter media system, the flow rate is typically in the 4.0 gpm per square foot range compared to a sand anthracite filter media system the flow rate is typically 1.2 to 2.0 gpm per square foot. When JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR is used in a pressure vessel filter system the flow rates are typically in the 12 to 15 (and sometimes 20) gpm per square foot range compared to a sand/anthracite pressure vessel filter system where the flow rates are typically 6 to 7 gpm per square foot.
 
 
Removal of Ammonium from Aquariums, Fisheries, Fish Transport Trucks:


JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR Zeolites are used for the removal of ammonium from water fisheries, trucks to transport fish, and aquariums. The addition of zeolite to ponds and tanks often stops or inhibits the growth of algae by removing nitrogen from the water. JNS SUPER Z® ZEO-CLEAR absorbs ammonium and ammonia gas to reduce the conversion of the nitrogen to nitrates and nitrites that cause water pollution.
